ShortCuts is a collection of original short songs that are meant to be used for auditions or practicing singing and learning music at home.

You may use them for auditions. (In-person and self-tapes) You may post a video of yourself singing them on your social media accounts. If you post them on social media, please credit/tag the writer(s) of the songs. Also use the hashtag #ShortCuts so we can see your videos! We love to see people interpreting our music. EXAMPLE POST Here's a video of me singing "The F Train" by Patrick Thompson. #ShortCuts

You are not allowed to sell any of the sheet music or make professional recordings of them for usage on streaming platforms or mainstream release. You cannot use these songs in a musical revue or theatrical performance for a paying audience. If you would like to do anything beyond using the song for personal use, please email ShortCutsMusicals@gmail.com and explain what you are interested in using them for.

It is my intention to offer these short songs to performers for personal use and auditioning. It is expensive to be involved in the arts and I want to help offset some of those costs. Money will never be a barrier for artists looking to work on their craft using ShortCuts. If you are able to and want to contribute towards the goal of keeping this project free, there is an option at checkout to donate money towards keeping this site running.

Thanks for your interest! We are accepting new submissions on a rolling basis if you'd like to have your work featured on the ShortCuts website. This is a free service, so there is currently no money involved, but we'd be happy to look at your stuff and if it feels in line with ShortCuts, we can have that conversation. Writers can also choose if they'd like their work featured for a short or long term presence on the website. Email ShortCutsMusicals@gmail.com with your interest.
